Actress Almila Bagriacik (29, "Just a Woman") has been an integral part of the German crime thriller world since her "Tatort" debut in 2018. In addition to Axel Milberg (63) aka Klaus Borowski, she regularly goes hunting for criminals in Kiel. Now the 29-year-old ventures into new territory: From July 7, she is fictional Spotify Original Podcast "SUSI"to be heard alongside stars such as Bastian Pastewka (48), Martina Hill (45), Alexander Scheer (44) and Maximilian Mundt (24). The series contains seven episodes each of 20 to 25 minutes.
In the tech thriller, which focuses primarily on language assistants, Bagriacik lends her voice to the leading role Sara. She herself is skeptical of Siri and Co., as she reveals in an interview with the news agency spot on news. "I don't use a voice assistant because it scares me."
"Sometimes Siri just went into a conversation, for example. Without starting a search and I felt bugged," explains Bagriacik. But that was not her only negative experience with the language assistant: "In line with the topics discussed, products were then suggested to me on social media and Google. It was too scary for me." Since then, she has turned Siri off and never configured it again. "I don't know if that helps – but at least she no longer talks in between," jokes the actress.
With Bastian Pastewka in the recording studio
The corona pandemic had no effect on the production of "SUSI". "Our part was already recorded at the end of February, so we had no restrictions here," says Bagriacik. She could stand in the recording studio with her colleagues. "I started with my wonderful colleague Bastian Pastewka and sometimes stood alone in front of the microphone."
Her part in "SUSI" is the first voice role for the 29-year-old. She didn't get any tips from the experienced voice actor Pastewka, but working with him, Martina Hill and Co. was great fun: "We had a lot of joy and laughed a lot." However, she was unable to meet all of her colleagues. "That's why I'm really excited about the end product."
What Almila Bagriacik loves most at the "crime scene"
Since 2018, Bagriacik has been in front of the camera alongside Axel Milberg as "crime scene" commissioner. The actress appreciates her colleagues very much: "My greatest luck in the 'Tatort' series is working with Axel Milberg. The exchange with him is valuable to me." But what is more fun for you: speaking or acting? "You can't say that. You also play when you speak and you also speak when you're acting," explains Bagriacik. "I enjoy both a lot and I enjoy it. But for me personally, working on the set is more complex."
