The American actress Naya Rivera, best known from the "Glee" series, is missing after a boat trip on a lake in California.
According to the police, the 33-year-old rented the boat on Wednesday afternoon (local time) to go swimming in Lake Piru with her little son northwest of Los Angeles. Hours later, passengers in another boat found the four-year-old sleeping on board alone, according to media reports. So far, there is no trace of the mother.
The boy had worn a life jacket and was doing well, said a spokesman for the sheriff's office in the Ventura district. He said that he had been swimming with his mother, but that she hadn't come back on the boat. An adult life jacket was also found on board, the spokesman said. The wallet and the ID card of the 33-year-old were also in the boat, the Los Angeles Times reported.
A search with boats, drones, helicopters and divers was initially unsuccessful. It is said to continue on Thursday after sunrise, the sheriff's office said on Twitter.
In the popular musical series “Glee” (2009-2015), Rivera, born in California, played cheerleader Santana Lopez.
