The name change almost caused a stir than the wedding itself: On June 19, Laura Müller and Michael Wendler married in Florida and she adopted his last name. On her Instagram profile, the 19-year-old demonstratively changed her name from Laura Sophie Müller to Laura Sophie Norberg.
But less than four weeks later, everything is the same. Laura is now Ms. Müller for her almost 600,000 Instagram subscribers. It does not reveal where this sudden change of mind comes from. Perhaps the inflencer has recognized that as Laura Müller she has now become a kind of brand on Instagram and that the name attracts more attention than Laura Norberg.
Wendler got names from his ex Claudia Norberg
After all, Michael Wendler is only an artist name, because the singer is called Skowronek. When he married ex-wife Claudia Norberg, he adopted her family name, and her daughter Adeline also wears it. That is why the Wendler said in advance of his wedding Laura Müller: "I don't want to be called any other than my daughter." And Laura in turn said: "I'm from the old school. I don't want to be called Michael."
The fact that she took the name Norberg and then changed it publicly on her Instagram profile was a provocation for Wendler's ex-wife. "I am deeply shaken and incredibly sad that my maiden name is now being used as a family name," said Claudia Norberg of the "Bild" newspaper. She was "very painfully hurt".
Before her wedding, the 49-year-old had asked Wendler and Müller several times, including in public, not to disclose her family name. "It is so unfair to my entire family and to my late father. I find it selfish, superficial, artificial and ruthless," complained Norberg. That Laura is now on Instagram again called Müller, should be at least a little satisfaction for them.
