John Saxon: US actor dies at 83

John Saxon is dead. The film world has lost an actor with him who has appeared in over 80 films throughout his career. How his wife Gloria Martel confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter, Saxon died on Saturday, July 25, in the city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, from complications from pneumonia. He was 83 years old.

Saxon, whose birth name is Carmine Orrico, started his acting career in the 1950s. His most famous works include "Southwest to Sonora" alongside Marlon Brando (1924-2004), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination, as well as "Nightmare On Elm Street – Murderous Dreams" and "The Man with the Death Claw" with Bruce Lee (1940-1973). Saxon also appeared in six episodes of "The Denver Clan". For his performance in "Men over forty" he was awarded a Golden Globe for best young actor in 1958.
