The lawsuit between actor Johnny Depp (57, "Sleepy Hollow") and the British tabloid "The Sun" is currently under trial in a London court. Depp defends himself against an article in which his ex-wife Amber Heard (34) has made serious allegations against him and he was referred to as a "wife's thug". He denies the allegations. In his U.S. home, actor Heard has also been sued for defamation. In the first trial days in London and in the first testimony in the defamation process, some piquant details of her failed marriage were revealed. Some prominent names were also mentioned.
Josh Drew, the ex-husband of Heard's best friend Raquel "Rocky" Pennington (31) testified in the defamation process in June and Heard assumed an affair with Tesla boss Elon Musk (49) and model Cara Delevingne (27), which is still ahead the divorce between Depp and Heard is said to have taken place. According to the British "Mail Online" When asked if Pennington had ever mentioned to him that there was an affair with Musk, Drew said "yes". When asked if Heard also had a threesome with Musk and Delevingne, Drew is said to have said, "I understand, yes." Musk then had a statement opposite "Page Six" explains: "Cara and I are friends, but we were never intimate. (…) I would also like to reiterate that Amber and I started dating only about a month after their divorce."
An alleged Amber Heard affair with actor James Franco (42, "127 Hours") was brought up on the second day of the trial in London. Depp is said to have spoken to Heard about the affair on a flight from Boston to Los Angeles in 2014 and verbally attacked the actress. Depp denied according to "Mail Online" in a statement about the attack and emphasized in relation to his ex-wife: "This is a good piece of her imagination." He only worried about Heard, who described her colleague as "creepy and intrusive". Heard was in front of the camera with Franco for the film "The Adderall Diaries".
A friend in need
On the other hand, Johnny Depp has only good things to say about music icon Elton John (73, "Tiny Dancer"). On the first day of the trial in London, the actor revealed that the singer had helped him out of drug addiction after separating from his long-time partner Vanessa Paradis (47). "I got away from alcohol and stayed sober," said Depp according to "Mail Online" in court. "I don't remember exactly how long that was, but it was a while." After 100 days without alcohol, he even wrote a thank-you email to Elton John and said: "You always believed in me."
Ex-partners as witnesses
Two prominent women from Depp's environment will apparently even have their say in the London trial: his former partners Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder (48, "Stranger Things") are to be added and testified by video. The French singer and actress Paradis was dating him from 1998 to 2012 and is the mother of his two children Lily-Rose Melody (21) and John Christopher (18). Actress Winona Ryder met Depp in 1989 and stood in front of the camera with him for "Edward with scissorhands" (1990). The couple became engaged shortly after filming, but the relationship ended in 1993.
Depp and Heard had met while filming "The Rum Diary" (2011), followed in 2015 by the wedding. However, after only 15 months of marriage, Heard filed for divorce in May 2016. The divorce was finally over in early 2017.
