He was silent for two years. At least on Twitter. After he posted his last tweet on April 12, 2018, reports Thomas Gottschalk now back at the short message service. Ten characters and an emoji are enough to excite fans and the public.
"20.07.2020" wrote the 70-year-old on Monday afternoon and gave the short message a heart. Shortly after, the wild speculations in the comment columns began. What could Gottschalk mean? The most common theory about the date: "I think people are getting married here!"
Gottschalk is silent
Many fans of the former "Wetten, dass ..?" Presenter believe that he will marry his girlfriend Karina Mross on July 20th. He has been in a relationship with the 58-year-old SWR employee since 2019. The couple lives together in Baden-Baden. But even if July 20, 2020 is a popular wedding date – there is no confirmation so far.
The management of Thomas Gottschalk left a corresponding request unanswered. Gottschalk, too, has so far not commented on his cryptic message.
"Bet that ..?" will return in 2021
The entertainer turned 70 on May 18 and celebrated this on the ZDF program "Happy Birthday, Thomas Gottschalk" with surprise guests. Prominent companions such as Barbara Schöneberger, Alice Schwarzer, Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, Fritz Egner, Günther Jauch, Kati Witt, Max Giesinger, Michael Schulte, Otto Waalkes and Frank Elstner congratulated the grandeur of German television entertainment.
From the planned resurrection of "Wetten, dass ..?" this year, however, nothing will. The show was due to come back on screens in November with a one-time special edition. However, due to Corona, the show was postponed to the coming year.
